This book is possibly an answer to the long due curiosity of mankind - What is God? In Hinduism, the terms such as 'Bhrahm', Consciousness, Self, Soul, Spirit, etc are all said to be synonyms for God. Even though voluminous accounts have been meditated, written and preached across ages and sages, the most perfect visualization of God has still remained impenetrable for all. Though, it never means that if human beings cannot penetrate God perfectly, He doesn't exist. 

Such is the impenetrable nature of God. Little can be helped. The wondrous term 'God' HAS remained beyond the logical construction by human mind and faculties. And this has been the very reason, that in Hinduism, God has been mentioned as 'Ananta' - The One who has no end. Quite obvious it is that human curiosity about God has also never ended. 

Following 1000 descriptions of God are basically a 'simplified' adaptation from a Hindu text - 'Vishnu-Sahasranaam' (A thousand appellations of God). Even though it belongs to Hindu scripture, considering the immutable universal oneness of God, it invariably belongs to all sects and beliefs. 

These descriptions are not merely the appellations or texts, but are a collection of distinct 'natures' of God as revealed from time to time to the different sages and seers after they had undergone enormous spells of meditation. These are the supreme pious 'findings' arrived after the curious inquiries made into 'God'.
